Fun, Food and Frazzled This past week was crazy. The days seemed longer than the usual, waking up early and being faithful to the programme that the teachers planed for us, and at night going to party with this amazing, awesome Dutch group. I stayed in a cottage style house with a very friendly family, most of the days I had to cycle in the morning to school, even under the rain, for about 20 minutes or so. Then, at school we would wait for the teachers, met up with everyone and go do our programme. Although at first the programme seemed a bit boring, it was diverse and fun. We saw Amsterdam, the must-see city; Delft, a town with loads of historic background; we went horseback riding, which turned out to be an amazing experience; and we painted tiles and some benches, which turned out to be really great even though some of us didn’t believe we had such artistic skills. After the programme, we usually cycled back home and had dinner with our host family. The food was great, I loved it. My host father used to cook at the weekends, and in this week he cooked and I felt as I as was in a fancy restaurant eating, or something made by a “masterchef”. And after dinner we went out to party with the rest of the group, and every night was awesome, dancing and laughing, stories would pop out, and new people were met. And now, at the end of this amazing week, some might ask themselves, “do I miss home?” and they’ll answer “Not really, I wish I could stay here for one more week”, because after all the exhaustion of this week, it was amazing and awesome, and I have no words to describe it.
